Biography

Dr. Christopher Ziemnowicz, editor of the program proceedings, earned his Bachelor of Science in Business  Administration from the George Mason University in Virginia and a MBA in International Business from The American University in Washington, DC. His first teaching appointment was with the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) where he also facilitated a School of Business faculty exchange program with the Social Sciences and Economics Institute at the Warsaw University of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska or Warsaw Tech) in Poland. He established new business ventures and later served as the General Manager of a privately held service enterprise in Washington, DC. He continued with teaching at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, as well as providing consulting services for the Small Business Development Center at Bucknell University. He developed entrepreneurial ventures while earning a PhD in management at the Warsaw University of Technology. Returning full-time to academe at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, he served as the Department Head for Business Administration and also as the director of the Graduate Business Programs (MBA, MS in Accounting, and a joint MBA-JD). Dr. Ziemnowicz’s next appointment was with Concord University, a part of the West Virginia state system, located in Athens, WV. He is currently with The University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP), where he served for six years as the Chair of the Management, Marketing, and International Business Department. His teaching responsibilities and research interests include marketing, management, international business, and entrepreneurship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also facilitates study abroad opportunities for students and is focused on bringing innovative techniques to improve student learning in the classrooms, as well as incorporating Quality Matters (QM) benchmarks into his online courses. He has been invited to present at several teaching conferences sponsored by the European Union (EU) often as the sole representative from the United States. His other professional development work includes numerous peer-reviewed research articles, chapters in books, conference presentations, and currently serves as an associate editor for several professional journals.
